Bolsonaro pushes the militarization of Brazil to the extreme

Even during the military dictatorship, Brazil had never entrusted so many responsibilities to the military as in the current government. Several sectors suffer from their lack of adequate training.

This is one of the rare promises kept by President Bolsonaro, made during the presidential campaign in 2018: to militarize its management as much as possible. Let us judge! At mid-term, 10 ministers, 16 directors of public enterprises and a host of administrative positions – 6,125 according to an investigation by the Court of Accounts – are now occupied by the military.
