Singer-songwriter and performer, Joyce Jonathan is on tour throughout France. Her concert in Bolquère, which she announces is dynamic, is the only date in the department. She will sing her greatest hits and give pride of place to her latest and 5th album “Les p’tites jolies choses”.
Do you know our Catalan mountains?
I sang at Le Médiator in Perpignan, but I don’t know the mountains. I’m very happy to come here, it’s not easy to get to, it’s worth coming to Bolquère! But as soon as I was offered this date, it seemed obvious to me to say yes.
You will sing while accompanying yourself on guitar and piano ?
Yes, I will play these two instruments, but there will also be three musicians, a guitarist pianist, a bass player and a drummer. The concert is quite dynamic, with many songs that move. I plan to do a real mix with the best known songs and the new album.
Your 5e album “Les p’tites jolies choses” is very autobiographical…
Totally, as I’ve always been writing and composing my songs, it’s imbued with my life. I have lived rich things these last three years. Moreover, each album corresponds to three years of slice of life! The title of the album is a hymn to simple little things and small daily pleasures.

Does this album reflect your life since 2019?
I met some great people, like Ibrahim Maalouf with whom I collaborated for six songs and Jason Mraz…! Perhaps because of the Covid and having had a child, I realized the importance of reality, living things for personal fulfillment and not for others. So it’s a lot of feelings that I experienced and that I wanted to tell in songs. In any case, it’s always in an extreme state that I write a song, unhappy or happy, but never lukewarm!
After the duet with Vianney, you persevere with Jason Mraz. You like collaborations!
Yes, I find it very pleasant to share a piece of life and music. The duo, In life and in deathwith Jason Mraz, an American singer that I admire, happened very spontaneously.
We live in a hot summer. Are you concerned about climate change?
Of course, it is very worrying to experience abnormal heat. On a daily basis and with my companion, I try to be eco-responsible, but it’s complicated to be irreproachable, especially with my job where I fly a lot. But, for example, I no longer do aquatic activities that could pollute the sea.
Do you have TV projects?
I had great experiences and I would love to relive them! But, it’s not in my plans. I’m mostly on promoting my 5e list and the release of my 3e singleHello Goodbye. And maybe writing a new album…
