Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas file lawsuit over mold-infested California mansion

The international media was abuzz with the news that Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra and her husband, American singer Nick Jonas, had moved from their mansion in California, after mold spread everywhere as a result of damage caused by water leakage.

Press reports indicated that the duo filed a lawsuit against the property owner, on the grounds that he cheated them, as problems occurred in the swimming pool and spa in the palace in 2020, and this led to problems with waterproofing that increased the spread of mold.

At approximately the same time, a water leak appeared in the barbecue area on the roof and this leak damaged a portion of the indoor living area directly below the roof, the complaint states.

The two stars also claim in the lawsuit that “the problems that the house suffers from make it an unlivable building and a health hazard for habitation.”

The lawsuit states that Jonas and Chopra are seeking damages through their guardian, with their lawyers saying: The plaintiff must be compensated for all repair costs, as well as loss of use and other damages resulting from the defendants’ conduct.

The exact costs of these damages have not yet been determined, but according to the complaint, the waterproofing problems will exceed $1.5 million, and general damages are estimated at about $2.5 million.

It is noteworthy that the duo has owned the luxury property since September 2019, and it cost them $20 million, according to the “Page Six” website.

The palace consists of 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a kitchen, a temperature-controlled wine room, an indoor basketball court, a bowling alley, a home theater, an entertainment hall, a spa with a steam shower, a full living room, in addition to a gym and a billiards room. .
