Artist Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, claims to always drink cow urine every day for health, including to prevent the corona virus (Covid-19).
There is no scientific evidence regarding the efficacy of cow urine for health and treatment. However, a number of politicians from right-wing Hindu nationalist parties are campaigning to use cow dung and urine to prevent and recover from Covid-19.
Kumar himself is a loyal supporter of the Hindu nationalist party led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Quoted from AFP, Narendra Modi has budgeted millions of US dollars to conduct research on cow waste products so that they become medicinal products for diseases ranging from diabetes, cancer, to Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Kumar had promoted his appearance on a television program hosted by British adventurer Bear Grylls. During the event, he drank tea made from elephant dung in a nature reserve in India.

“I’m too excited to worry. I drink cow urine out of consideration [di ajaran] ayurvedic so it doesn’t matter, “Kumar said on his Twitter account.
Ayurvedic is a system of alternative medicine that is rooted in historical values in India.
Hindus do believe that cows are sacred creatures and drinking their urine can be medicinal and nutritious for health.
So far, 4.6 million people in India have tested positive for Covid-19. A total of 76 thousand people died from the virus.
In the midst of this situation, Modi set up a special ministry of ayurveda and yoga. The number one person in India has even stated that practicing yoga can help form a shield to prevent Covid-19.
