Havana – General Gary Prado Salmon (84), who led the military operation that captured and killed communist revolutionary legend Che Guevara, has died. Prado retired from the Bolivian Army in 1988. In 1981, he was confined to a wheelchair after being accidentally shot in the spine.
Prado’s move with the support of the US led to the capture of ‘Comrade’, who is still cherished by communists all over the world. After winning the Cuban Revolution in 1959 with Fidel Castro, Che was secretly fighting to organize uprisings in neighboring countries.
