La Paz, December 29, 2023 (ATB Digital).- The brothers Julián (18 years old) and Esteban Mayer (16) have been in Spain since the middle of this month training at the Madrid Fencing Club to arrive in shape for the Cadet and Youth Pan American Games that will be held from February 22 to 27 in Rio from Janeiro, Brazil.
His trip was thanks to the support and financial support of the Vice Ministry of Sports with the Tunkas program.
Their training is quite arduous with very intense physical sessions without neglecting the technical and tactical part.
They are currently part of the camp organized by the Spanish cadet and youth team until Saturday thanks to the invitation they received.
As part of their preparation they will also participate in several World Cups.
A few days ago they competed in the Madrid World Cup, an event in which Julián placed 54th out of 200 shooters.
“We continue with a lot of ambition and desire for victory training at the Madrid Fencing Club with teacher Rafael López Hidalgo for the following cups where I will seek to get better results,” Julián posted on social networks.
While Esteban won the bronze medal in the III Provincial Children’s Saber Tournament in the Cadet category.
On January 13, Esteban will participate in the Cadet World Cup in Barcelona, and the two will compete in February in the Plovdiv Cups in Bulgaria and Dourdan in France.
After both tournaments, the brothers will return to South America and go directly to Rio de Janeiro to be part of the Cadet and Youth Pan American Games.
