The Minister of Health and Sports, Jeyson Auza, reported this Wednesday that to date 301,000 adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
The country’s first health authority detailed that according to data from the National Health Information System – Epidemiological Surveillance (SNIS-VE), adolescents between 12 and 15 years old were vaccinated by department until November 23 in the following order: Beni 2,369, Chuquisaca 10,810, Cochabamba 30,789, La Paz 35,552, Oruro 7,602, Pando 1,097, Potosí 9,264, Santa Cruz 46,190 and Tarija 8,703.
While the immunization of adolescents between 16 and 17 years of age arrived by department until November 23 in the following amounts: Beni 2,969, Chuquisaca 9,100, Cochabamba 30,397, La Paz 38,404, Oruro 8,740, Pando 1,031, Potosí 7,815, Santa Cruz 35,123 and Tarija 7,758.
The application of the Pfizer vaccine to minors began last Tuesday, November 9 throughout the national territory, among the requirements that are needed to access the vaccine are an authorization from the minor’s parents or guardian to be vaccinated and a photocopy of the minor’s identity card.
Minister Auza pointed out that the goal is to immunize all adolescents and young people from 12 to 17 years old in the national territory, for which he stressed that this age group goes en masse to vaccination points. He recalled that the Pfizer dose helps reduce viral risk and preserve life.
