BOLA – Vitória begins to punish the ‘Marega case’ against Famalicão (Vitória de Guimarães)

Vitória de Guimarães will play the first of three games behind closed doors resulting from racist insults to FC Porto striker Moussa Marega, at the reception for Famalicão, scheduled for Wednesday, on the 32nd round.

Following the punishment announced by the Disciplinary Council (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), which dictated the games behind closed doors and a fine of 53,500 euros, the Minho club filed an appeal at the Sports Arbitral Tribunal.

However, the League of Clubs reported this Monday that the disciplinary decision will become “immediately enforceable”.

«It is necessary to inform that the fulfillment of the sanction of three games behind closed doors will take place in the next three games in which Vitória Sport Clube will participate as a visited team, namely the game to be played with Futebol Clube de Famalicão, counting for the 32nd day of the League, the game to be played against Benfica, for the 34th day and the next game that will be played as a visitor », the statement reads.

The organization also informed that the Guimarães emblem has waived the period of 15 working days for the sanction to “become enforceable” ”either with the FPF CD or with the Clubs League Competitions Department.
