BOLA – Sporting beats FC Porto in the second extra time and wins the Portuguese Cup (Handball)

Sporting won the Portuguese Handball Cup this Sunday, beating FC Porto by 36-35 in extra time, at the Matosinhos Congress Centre.

The lions started the game better, they were winning with two goals ahead, but the white and blues reacted and even managed to comfortably lead the scoreboard (15-10), reaching the break to win by 15-13.

Only towards the end of the second half did the Lions manage to draw (24-24) and even move to the front of the encounter, but the Dragons managed to equalize (26-26), forcing extra time. Here, FC Porto regained the lead, but in the last seconds Schongarth drew (30-30) forcing another extra time.

The leonine team prevailed at the start of the second overtime and managed to prevent the Dragons from equalizing, who thus failed to Tripe. The party was green and white.
