A 76-year-old Portuguese national lost his life in the city of Maputo, victim of Covid-19, according to data released Thursday by the Ministry of Health.
It is known that the victim was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Central Hospital of Maputo (HCM) on August 29 with a severe clinical condition. The citizen was tested for the new coronavirus and tested positive. The result would only be confirmed on Wednesday, September 2, the day after the patient lost his life.
This is the third death that occurs in Mozambique within 24 hours, since on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health had announced two more deaths caused by the pandemic, which has already killed 26 people in the country.
With regard to the number of infected, Mozambique started to count, on Thursday, 4270 positive cases, after the announcement of another 90 infected people.
Regarding those recovered, another 42 patients are free of the disease, totaling 2,370 people, who underwent new tests was negative.
In view of these figures, the country currently has 1,806 active cases of covid-19.
