Portugal recorded, in the last 24 hours, an increase of 32 fatalities due to the new coronavirus, with a total of 599 deaths since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, an increase of 5.6 percent.
According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health, a further 643 positive cases were confirmed, which translates into a total of 18091 Covid-19 patients in the country. It is an increase of 3.6 percent.
There are 1200 people hospitalized, with 208 in Intensive Care – 10 more yesterday.
There is also a new increase in the number of recovered: there are now 383, yesterday there were 347. It is an increase of 10.37%.
The overall fatality rate is 3.3%. Above 70, the rate is 11.7%, advances the Secretary of State for Health, António Sales, at the press conference.
António Sales also said that since March 1, more than 200 thousand tests have been carried out, with over one million tests in stock.
