BOLA – Milan promises to lower ticket prices for Champions (Italy)

Milan announced this Sunday the temporary suspension of ticket sales for the three Champions League games and promised to reassess prices at a low level after protests from supporters.

Back in the Champions League after seven years of absence, the club put the first tickets on sale this week, setting prices well above Inter, for example, and in the same stadium, San Siro.

For a spot on the curves, the price shown for Milan-Atlético Madrid (September 28) was more than double the price of Inter-Real Madrid (September 15): 119 euros, against 48 euros.

“I understood your concerns and realized that we are not aligned as we would like. Therefore, we re-evaluated our decision and we will readjust the prices», justified the general director Ivan Gazidis in a message addressed to fans on the club’s website.

“The club is still facing a difficult situation caused by the pandemic and has suffered a lot from your absence from the stadium for the past eighteen months. Ticket sales are obviously an important part of the equation and throughout the season we try to find a price balance that manages the necessary tickets, without excluding or penalizing. Our goal is just one: to make fans proud with a successful and financially responsible team», he guaranteed.

Milan has been controlled since 2018 by the American fund Elliott, with losses already inherited from the Berlusconi era: during the 2019-20 season, they exceeded 100 million losses for the third consecutive year (126 million for 2017/18, 146 million for 2018/19 ).
