FC Porto beat Vizela 4-2, but didn’t get rid of a scare. Everything seemed to be going smoothly for the dragons, who reached 2-0 with goals from Evanilson, after a glaring error by goalkeeper Pedro Silva, and Taremi, in converting a penalty to punish Shettine’s foul on Grujic.
Vizela reacted and, nine minutes before half-time, the American Alexis Méndez, in a shot from the half-moon zone, reduced the disadvantage. In the restart, Nuno Moreira made it 2-2: down on the left, the winger shot outside the area, with the ball hitting Mbemba’s chest and deceiving Diogo Costa. In the 57th minute, Mbemba calmed the Dragon down with a great goal, in a first-time shot inside the area, after a cross by Pepê, and shortly before the end of the game Taremi scored twice, confirming the triumph.
FC Porto’s 4-2 victory signals the good performance of Vizela. The dragons fulfilled the minimum services and this Sunday they are pushing for Gil’s success in Alvalade. To prevent FC Porto from being champions, Rúben Amorim’s team must win.
