BOLA found that the Disciplinary Council (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation brought charges against Pepe and Tabata in the process surrounding the two players, initiated following the derby between FC Porto and Sporting, held on 11 February.
Both Pepe and Bruno Tabata, remember, were preventively suspended for two games (maximum period provided for by law), while the League Instructors Committee was gathering evidence.
Both now face a suspension of two months to two years, a punishment that, once the indictment has been deducted, will be decided after a disciplinary hearing. They can, therefore, continue to play until it is decided, as they have already served their preventive punishment.
At the same point is the case concerning Luís Gonçalves, director general of FC Porto, who was also preventively suspended after being sent off in the same game.
