Darlene Reguera, a 31-year-old Brazilian international, is leaving the Benfica women’s football team. In an official note, Clube da Luz says that the two parties decided not to extend the contract.
Darlene joined Benfica in 2018/2019, a season that marked the start of women’s football in the red emblem.
From eagle to chest, the striker won a National Championship of the 2nd Division, a Portuguese Cup, a Super Cup and two League Cups.
«The paths of SL Benfica and Darlene separate, but a joint story of remarkable success will persist, which places the footballer in a well-deserved gallery of honor. Thank you, captain, for your competitive attitude », you can read in the note posted on the Clube da Luz website.
