Bojonegoro – From January to the end of November 2021, the Bojonegoro Regency Health Office (Dinkes), East Java, recorded 211 cases of DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever). Of that number, three of them died.

“There are 211 cases and three people died of acute conditions due to being late to the doctor. Dengue fever cases are almost evenly distributed in all sub-districts in Bojonegoro Regency,” said Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Division, Bojonegoro Health Office, dr. Wheny Dyah Prajanti to SuaraBanyuurip.com, Thursday (12/23/2021).

According to dr. Whenny, in an effort to overcome the epidemic, residents are advised to continue to carry out the One One Gertak, which is an acronym for the one house one Jumantik simultaneous movement with PSN (mosquito nest eradication) activities. His party also deploys mosquito larvae monitoring cadres in every village to eradicate mosquito larvae nests.

“We hope that Jumantik cadres will spread to the community in every family, because the dengue mosquito is very dangerous for the safety of life, especially children,” he hoped.

Wheny said, once a week, it is hoped that all people will be aware of the obligation to protect their environment from mosquito nests so that dengue fever does not breed in the surrounding environment.

“Especially in the rainy season like today,” he said.

He explained that one of the reasons for the emergence of DHF caused by the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito carrying the dengue virus, was the humid conditions and the large number of puddles of water, so that it became a nest for mosquitoes to breed.

“For prevention, eradicating mosquito nests is important. These are draining bath tubs, closing water reservoirs, and burying all unused items that have the potential to become mosquito nests,” he concluded.(fin)
