Bojonegoro – Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is haunting Bojonegoro. Since the beginning of 2022, 112 residents have been hospitalized due to dengue fever. Two children died from the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
This was confirmed by the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Bojonegoro Regency Health Office, dr. Whenny Diyah Prajanti. He said that there were 112 people infected with dengue fever and 2 deaths of children aged 8 and 9 years. Both are from Trucuk and Kedungadem sub-districts.
“For now (the number of) cases there are 112 and 2 deaths, aged 8 and 9 years,” said Whenny, Wednesday (26/1/2022).
The high spread of dengue fever in the oil city area has been monitored since November 2021. With positive numbers of dengue fever reaching 83 cases. Meanwhile, in December 2021 there were 262 cases. The total number of DHF patients reached 392 cases in 2021. The death rate was 5 people.
While in 2022, the number of patients from early January to 26 January, reached 112 cases with the death toll reaching 2 children.
Bojonegoro Health Office admitted that his party had carried out socialization to the community in order to maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle. The goal is to prevent the spread of dengue fever.
“Education activities through radio, mobile counseling, and the simultaneous movement of 1 Jumantik 1 house continue to be encouraged, namely eradicating mosquito nests once a week, selective abatization, and indicated fogging,” concluded Dr. Whenny.
