Presence Bojan Hodak completely changed the face Persib Bandung in Liga 1 2023/2024, which was initially stranded in the relegation zone is now on the ladder of the championship hunt.
Currently Persib is in third place in the League 1 standings with 24 points from 14 matches. Maung Bandung won six times, drew six times and lost two times.
The points collected by Maung Bandung are only four points adrift of Borneo FC at the top of the standings and three points with Madura United. This is Persib’s best position in the 2023/2024 season.
Persib’s performance at the start of this season, when they were still managed by Luis Milla Aspas, was sluggish. Until the third week, Persib was in 14th position with only three draws.
Milla’s departure makes Persib even more confused. In the fourth week they lost to PSM Makassar. This defeat made Prince Biru enter the relegation zone, to be precise in 16th position.
Persib management then announced the name of Bojan Hodak as Milla’s replacement ahead of the away match against Persik Kediri. Hodak was present when Persib won over Persik, although only in the stands.
Hodak just made his debut with Persib when they hosted Bali United in the sixth week. This match ended in a 0-0 draw. After that Persib lost 1-2 to Persis Solo, and then drew 1-1 with Barito Putera.
In the seventh and eighth weeks, Persib entered the relegation zone again, in 16th position. This situation made Bobotoh angry. Hodak’s presence did not change the situation much.
However, since the ninth week, when they visited PSIS Semarang headquarters, Persib’s game was different. Until the 14th week or in six consecutive matches, Persib had never lost again.
In those six matches, David da Silva and his friends achieved five wins and one draw. Persib got the only draw when they visited Persija’s headquarters in Bekasi.
Most recently, Persib won 5-0 over Persita, Sunday (1/10). This victory made Persib enter the championship ladder, in third place. This is the first time Persib has entered the top four zone.
Game-wise, Persib’s face under Hodak’s care is not as beautiful as Milla’s concoction. Persib looks pragmatic and powerful. However, Hodak’s formula makes Persib consistently win.
