In addition, certain areas in Bærum are affected, writes Oslo municipality.
– From and including 20 September at 16 everyone in the areas of Røa, Bogstad, Voksen skog, Midtstuen, Vettakollen, Voksenåsen, Holmenkollen and Tryvann is asked to boil their drinking water. This means that all water that goes into the mouth must be boiled first. This applies to water that is to be drunk, but also water that is, for example, used in coffee makers, for ice cubes or to brush teeth with, writes the municipality.
They write that the reason for the boiling recommendation is the discovery of local contamination in water samples from the area.
– This can make people ill, and for safety’s sake, the municipality is therefore asking everyone who is within the area to boil their water. All those affected have been notified by SMS, they write.
Around 25,000 residents are affected by the cooking recommendation.
– It is still too early to say anything about when the cooking recommendation will be lifted. The earliest possible time is Saturday 23 September if the water samples over the next few days show no signs of contamination, writes the municipality.
