The last farewell to actor and drummer Dalimil Klapka, who died on June 14 at the age of 89, took place today at the Na Fidlovačce Theater in Prague. Jiřina Bohdalová, Iva Pazderková, Dana Batulková, Eliška Balzerová or the drummer Jiří Hromada came to give the last goodbye to the actors.

From 11:00 the stage of the Prague Theater Na Fidlovačce was open to the public, at 13:00 the mourning ceremony for family and closest friends began. Survivors at the party, published by the Actors’ Association, chose a quote from the American writer and philosopher Elbert Hubbard “Don’t take life too seriously, you won’t get out of it anyway”which according to them describe Klapka’s way of life.
Bohdalová’s kisses and laughter
Honoring the dabber and the actors came among others Jiřina Bohdalová, Eliška BalzerováJiří Hromada, Iva PazderkováDana Batulkova, Jaroslav Satoransky nebo Ivanka Devátá.
There was a relaxed atmosphere during the ceremony and there was no shortage of smiles. Jiřina Bohdalová she was under siege by men and she kissed a few. Most notably with the actor Rudolf Jelinek.
Successful in dubbing
Dalimil Klapka was born in Prague, where he also graduated from Jirásek’s pedagogical grammar school. In 1953 he was accepted to DAMU, which he successfully completed. His acting career was mainly connected with today’s Švand Theater in Prague, where he worked for 33 years. He taught acting at the conservatory for almost 20 years. He also worked at the Karlín Music Theater, the Old Town Theater, the Dlouhá Theater, the Drama Club and since April 2005 he has worked at the Fidlovačka Theater.
While Klapka was given smaller roles in films and television series, more prominent in dubbing. He spoke, for example, Abraham Simpson’s grandfather from the animated series of the same name and dozens of other characters. His most famous role was dubbing American actor Peter Falk in the successful detective series Columbo. He also dubbed the character of his grandfather in the animated series The Simpsons.
In the film The Second Move by Pawn by director Vít Olmer from 1984, he lent his voice to Vlastimil Fišar. The actor Fišar, who played the role of a foreign agent and head of the Hofman men’s salon in the film, was at the mercy of the communist regime and his name was not allowed to appear in the captions.
