Linda is a lecturer at the Warsaw Film School. For this reason, he was able to accept, along with other academics, the COVID-19 vaccine. Registration for vaccinations of this professional group started in Poland on February 15.
Linda vaccinated with AstraZeneka
Like all teachers, the actor also received a vaccine from the British-Swedish concern AstraZeneca. Linda reported that he felt fine after receiving the preparation.
“Two days after the first dose of the vaccine. Like all the lecturers – AstraZeneca. It’s great. Healthy and in one piece” – he wrote on Facebook, referring indirectly to concernsthat have grown up around the company’s vaccines.
Concerns about the vaccine
The suspicion of a very rare disease of venous sinus thrombosis appeared a few days ago, when 18 such cases were reported in Europe. These were expected to happen a few days or weeks after taking AstraZeneca. Such a possibility last week was not ruled out even by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), as reported by Reuters.
The hypothesis that this vaccine may provoke the formation of venous sinus thrombosis was presented by specialists from Germany and Norway. This disease would result from the fact that under the influence of the preparation, in exceptional circumstances, antibodies could develop, favoring the formation of such thrombosis.
The latest research shows that the AstraZeneca vaccine is effective and safe, and does not increase the risk of thrombosis. There was also not a single case of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.
Hejt on the actor
Linda’s decision to accept the vaccine was, however, criticized by some internet users. The actor commenting on the post pointed out that he was involved in vaccine propaganda, accepting money for vaccination with AstraZeneca. However, a large number of commentators praised the actor for setting a good example and overcoming anti-vaccine prejudices.
