The District Secretary of Education (SED) plans the participation of 5,510 students from public schools in the city, in the Bogotá International Book Fair from April 18 to May 2, that they will be able to enter for free and live an experience of Reading, Writing, and Orality – LEO.
The secretariat will promote 16 visits by Mexican authors to urban and rural educational institutions to bring FILBo to the City and share works with the educational community ranging from science, literature and illustration.
“These activities contribute to the goals of the Public Policy on Reading, Writing and Orality of the Education Sector, especially in the strengthening of School Libraries and the Plan for Strengthening Reading and Writing, which seek to transform the practices of reading and writing to guarantee that all boys and girls in Bogotá read before they are 8 years old, an adequate time for this learning”, indicated the Secretary of Education, teacher Edna Bonilla Sebá.
