BOGOR – The number of cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever or DHF in Bogor City will increase in 2021.
The Bogor City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) noted that until mid-October 2021, as many as 118 residents were being treated for dengue.
The number of cases this year is relatively higher when compared to the number of residents treated at the Bogor City Hospital in 2020 which only treated 89 patients.
Of the total 89 DHF patients who were treated, 62 were children and 27 were adults.
Deputy Director of Medical, Nursing and Supporting Services at the Bogor City Hospital, Dr. Sari Chandrawati, said that the Bogor City Hospital had handled 118 cases of DHF.
With details of 73 pediatric patients and 45 adult patients. “There is an increase in dengue cases being treated this year,” said Dr. Sari, Thursday (27/10/2021).
According to him, even though it was only October the number of dengue cases had exceeded the cases in 2020.
However, according to Dr. Sari, currently there are only 17 DHF patients who are still undergoing treatment. With details of 60 percent of Bogor City patients and 40 percent of Bogor Regency patients.
“These 17 patients are pediatric patients. They are undergoing treatment in a children’s hospital,” he said.
To anticipate the increasing number of dengue cases, the Bogor City Hospital will add more patient beds.
“We have already thought about the anticipation (of a spike). We have tents and bed sheets that can be used if there is a spike in dengue cases,” he added.
Even so, Dr. Sari hopes that the community can maintain cleanliness so that there is no spike in dengue cases.
Then for the internal hospitals themselves, his party always tries to keep the environment clean so that there are no places where dengue mosquito nests can be sheltered. (ded/mg2)
