Boerne Little League falls to Florida in the Little League World Series – Telemundo San Antonio (60)

SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne Little League baseball team fell to Florida in a close game at the World Series being held in Pennsylvania.

This Saturday’s game was in search of the championship in the United States category.

The team will now face Venezuela this Sunday, August 25 at 9:00 a.m. CT in hopes of claiming third place in the Little League World Series.

Boerne fell to Florida. The Texas team had 7 runs and Florida 10.

The young athletes are already winners for much of the Texas community and Boerne is even prepared to welcome them as local heroes this Monday when they return from the World Series.

Organizers encourage the public to gather at 5:00 p.m. to the area on Main Street, from Main Plaza south to Theissen Street. Beginning at 5:15 p.m., Main Street will be temporarily blocked while the team is escorted from Main Plaza to River Road and back, ending back at Main Plaza.

Once the team passes, attendees can head to Main Plaza for the celebration event.

Formal recognition will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m.

This youth baseball event is the world’s premier tournament for promising young baseball players and Boerne Little League will not only be representing their city, but also the Lone Star State.
