A Southwest plane had to return to the gate after being shot Friday evening. No injuries were reported.
A Boeing 737-800 of the American company Southwest Airlines was hit by a shot at Dallas airport this Friday, November 15, as it was preparing to take off, American media report. Shortly before 10 p.m., Flight 2494 “was ready to take off for Indianapolis when a bullet apparently struck the right side of the aircraft”the company told Reuters. The FAA, the civil aviation regulator in the United States, said the bullet had hit the aircraft “near the cockpit”.
The plane then returned to the boarding gate and the passengers were able to disembark. No injuries were reported. “The police were notified and the device was removed from service” time to carry out checks and possible repairs, Southwest told Reuters.
An airport runway was temporarily closed after the shooting, but was able to reopen in the evening, relate CBS News. The mystery remains for the moment as to the origin of the shot.
