Boeing predicts that the aviation market will reach nine trillion dollars (7.6 trillion euros) over the next ten years, instead of the 8.5 trillion dollars (7.2 trillion euros) estimated a year ago.

“As our industry recovers and continues to adapt to new global needs, we remain confident in the long-term growth of the aviation industry,” said Mark Allen, Boeing’s Director of Strategy. “We are encouraged by the fact that scientists have been able to deliver vaccines faster than expected and that passengers are showing strong confidence in traveling by plane.”

Meanwhile, Daren Hirst, vice president of the company’s commercial market, says that “we have lost about two years of growth. But we expect a recovery to pre-pandemic levels by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.”
