Chinese authorities confirmed on Thursday the discovery of human remains at the site where an airline plane crashed on Monday China Eastern Airlines with more than 130 people on board, without so far having provided a balance of victims.
The fire chief in the autonomous region of Guangxi Zhuang, Zeng Xi, has indicated that part of the fuselage and the human remains recovered in the area, located in the south of the Asian country, have been handed over to the investigation teams, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
Also, the head of the Aviation Safety Office of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Zhu Taohas indicated that the ‘black box’ found on Wednesday in the area is probably the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and has stressed that the outside of it has suffered serious damage, although the data collection unit is relatively complete.
Rescue teams have so far found no survivors of the crash, while experts from the Civil Aviation Administration of China managed to gain access to the where the aircraft crashed to confirm the identity of the missing and clarify the cause of the accident.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered “best efforts” in search and rescue work, while the deputy prime minister, Liu He, and the Councilor of State Wang Yong are in Guangxi to supervise operations.
