BOE was kicked out by Apple again, unable to supply OLED panels for the new iPad Pro

Screen panel manufacturer BOE once reported that they could not supply iPhone panels to Apple because of unauthorized configuration changes, but in the end everything was resolved. Recently, the Korean news website Business Korea reported that BOE, which has been striving to become a supplier of iPad screen panels, has recently lost its name again.

According to reports, Apple is purchasing 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch OLED panels for the new iPad Pro released in 2024, and Apple has excluded BOE from the list of suppliers. If Business Korea’s report is true, two Korean manufacturers, Samsung Display and LG Display, will be suppliers of screen panels for the new iPad Pro.

It is rumored that Apple plans to use 14-inch and 16-inch OLED panels for MacBook laptops starting in 2026. Manufacturers need to invest in production lines in advance to ensure that supply can meet customer demand. Now that BOE is removed from the list of iPad Pro suppliers, it will be a blow to them.
