BOE is able to move Samsung’s dominance as iPhone screen supplier into 2024

Jakarta (ANTARA) – A Chinese screen company, BOE, is expected to be able to shift Samsung’s dominance as the supplier of screens for Apple’s iPhone smartphones in 2024.

This prediction came from Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo who said that the change in the domain of screen manufacturing started with the appearance of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.

GSM Arena reported on Thursday that the current market condition specifically for iPhone screens is still dominated by Samsung.

Samsung is known to produce 70 percent of the panels for the iPhone 14 series, starting from the regular version, the Plus version, the Pro version, up to the Pro Max.

Meanwhile, BOE as a competitor only produces special screens for the regular iPhone 14.

However, when the iPhone 15 series is released, it is likely that Apple will increase orders for BOE by increasing the production of screens for the Plus version.

Total screen production is expected to cover 70 percent of the iPhone 15 series sales target.

While the remaining 30 percent will be produced by Samsung.

Meanwhile, for the Pro version of the screen panel, BOE also has the potential to get orders to participate in screen production with 20 to 30 percent share.

Even so, for the Pro version, it appears that Apple will still rely on screens supplied by Korean companies, namely LG and Samsung.

If the total is taken as a whole and BOE can maintain the production and production performance of screens for the regular version of the iPhone, BOE can become the largest supplier of screens for iPhone in the second quarter of 2024.

BOE is also expected to grow rapidly and become a fairly competitive supplier globally in the coming years.

BOE’s growth was not only influenced by the production of iPhone screens, but also by ordering medium to large size OLED and mini LED screens specifically for other Apple products.
