BOE cheated displays and lost the contract to produce 30 million displays for the iPhone

Smartphones Apple iPhone they mainly use screens from Samsung and LG, but a Chinese company BOE should be among other suppliers. Specifically, it was supposed to be displays for 30 million iPhones, which roughly corresponds to the number of iPhones sold in general in 2 months. But the contract fell through because the BOE was caught in the fraud. According to reports, the BOE wanted to save on production costs and, without Apple’s knowledge, changed the width of the electronic circuits.

However, this has been found, and the BOE does not seem to be among the manufacturers supplying displays for the new iPhones (and the question is whether even for the older ones, because the BOE should have been the supplier of displays for some refurbished smartphones so far). LG and Samsung will probably share the contract for the production of 30 million displays. LG is expected to produce a 6.7 “display for the flagship iPhone 14 Pro Max, and Samsung for the other models (6.1” for the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro and 6.7 “for the iPhone 14 Max). Launch of new iPhones is expected on Tuesday, September 13.
