On behalf of the Surinamese Public Prosecution Service, the police of the Nieuw-Amsterdam office have now surrendered the lifeless body of 22-year-old Tahira Etnel to the next of kin. The Suriname Police Force reported this today.
Tahira came in the morning of Friday December 17th after a traffic accident on the Pronkweg to die.
The preliminary investigation revealed that shortly before the collision with a white-painted vehicle with four other occupants, she was driving on the aforementioned road. They came from the direction of New Amsterdam and went in the direction of Meerzorg.
While describing a bend, the driver lost control of the vehicle, landing on the verge and crashing into an electric mast. The vehicle then flipped over and ended up in the roadside gutter.
The three co-passengers, MF (22), TF (7), and KB (24) required medical treatment. The fourth co-passenger is a lady who got a lift. After the accident, this woman probably left the location out of fear without leaving her personal details behind.
The vehicle that Tahira was driving was also handed over to the next of kin by the police. KPS just reported.
