The body of 46-year-old Zlatko Dermendzhiev from Haskovo, who was wanted since July 13, was discovered, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
The man disappeared during his traditional walk in the Kenana forest park.
“He has no mental or health problems. He was just chubbier and wanted to lose weight. I don’t know what happened. He just disappears. He had a phone with an internet card because he does not live in Bulgaria,” said Zlatko’s sister, Valentina Dermendzhieva.
To find the man, a large-scale operation was launched with the participation of the police and a volunteer. A few days ago, the emergency rescue team from Pernik joined in the action, helping to find 12-year-old Sashko in November last year.
Since yesterday morning, military personnel have joined in patrolling the terrain north and northwest of Haskovo.
The search perimeter was expanded yesterday, the police explained. The initial inspection showed that there were no signs of violence, but an autopsy will also be undertaken, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained.
