Body of man recovered from Lewisville Lake after apparent drowning

The body of a man was recovered Monday from Lewisville Lake, about a day after he jumped into the water and failed to resurface.

A man was on the lake about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in a rented boat with friends when he jumped in for a swim, according to a statement from the Lewisville Fire Department. He was not wearing a life jacket and did not resurface.

A park ranger located his body early Monday night and the fire department’s dive team recovered it around 6 p.m., according to a statement from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The statement said the area of ​​the lake the man jumped into was about 45 feet deep.
