(ANSA) – NOGAROLE VICENTINO, 20 SEPTEMBER – The body of Nadia Chiarello, the girl who died 45 years ago and was found dead in January 1979 9 days after her disappearance in Arso di Chiampo (Vicenza) under mysterious circumstances, was exhumed this morning at the cemetery in Nogarole Vicentino (Vicenza). The prosecutor’s office ordered the exhumation of the body after requests from the family who never believed that an accident was the cause of death. The body of the girl, who was 17 at the time, was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Padua where the forensic doctors will perform the autopsy in the next few days, which will be preceded by a CT scan to better study the recovered remains. Present at the cemetery were the Carabinieri, the victim’s family members with their lawyers and the mayor of Nogarole Romina Bauce. A case that was reopened in 2021 by the Vicenza Prosecutor’s Office, after the complaint of Nadia’s sister who had received an anonymous letter with some threats. (ANSA).
