On Thursday morning, a 23-year-old man was found dead near the Hubertuswarte in the Lainzer Tiergarten in the district of Hietzing. This was announced by the Vienna police.
The circumstances of the death are so far unclear. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office has resumed the investigation. Since neither third party fault nor suicide could be excluded, a judicial autopsy was ordered. Their results are still pending.
A forest ranger learned of the 23-year-old’s body lying in a meadow around 9:00 am. The coroner could not establish a clear cause of death on the spot. “There were no obvious injuries on the body,” police spokesman Markus Dittrich said. He is an Austrian citizen.
