NEW YORK – A body found in the Saxtons River in Westminster on Monday could be that of a missing New York City woman and the death was accidental, Vermont State Police said Monday.
Erika Seyfried, 36, of Brooklyn, was last seen around 11:00 a.m. Sunday when she went for a walk with her dog while on vacation with her husband in the area. She was reported missing around 8:00 pm on Sunday.
On Monday, members of the Vermont State Police dive team located a body in the river.
The body is being transported to the Vermont Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation into the death continues.
