Body found in Lake Michigan south of Chicago

Chicago – Authorities say a body was found in Lake Michigan south of Chicago Thursday morning.

A pedestrian noticed a body floating in the lake in the 4900 block of South Lake Shore Drive around 8:54 a.m., Chicago Police said.

Crews pulled a body out of the water near 49th Street Beach, authorities said.

The identity of the person has not been released, while area detectives are investigating the case.
