BODØ (VG) As the first team since Lyn in 1968, Bodø / Glimt has scored more than 50 goals in the season’s first 15 games – and the league leader is well ahead of schedule to set a scoring record in the Eliteserien.

When Jens Petter Hauge put in 3-0 after to have “argued” to be allowed to take the punishment in front of Philip Zinkernagel, touched on Bodø / Glimt Lyn’s performance from 1968.

The league leader added three more goals after that in the home meeting with Start and now stands with an impressive 53 goals in the season’s first 15 games.

– It is brutally strong. A demonstration of power. We are ruthless and efficient, Hauge told VG about the 6-0 victory on Saturday night.

The record for the number of goals scored in one season at the highest level in Norway is by Rosenborg. Trøndelag scored 87 goals in the 1997 season, but at that time there were only 14 teams and 26 matches were played.

The 1997 record gave an average of 3.35 goals per game.

Bodø / Glimt in 2020 so far has a goal average of 3.53 after 15 games. If the league leader keeps the pace throughout the season, they will thus end up with 106 goals in 30 games in the Elite Series.

– Is there a goal you can set yourself a little on the side?

– No, Kjetil Knutsen answers the question from VG in cash.

– We talk little about goals. We are more concerned with what happens before we reach the goals. Performance, development – we will continue to do so, and the results will come as a consequence of hard and good work every single day.

Rosenborg also holds the record for the number of goals scored in a season with 30 games when the Trøndelag team scored 73 goals in the 2015 season (goal average of 2.43 goals per game).

Patrick Berg, who scored his fourth goal of the season against Start, is not so concerned about this either.

– It is not something we will go and think about, but it is of course fun that we score so many goals. It shows that we have a hunger in the team, that we always want more. It is only positive, says the Glimt captain.

With the same pace as in the first half of the season, Bodø / Glimt is also well placed to set a points record in a series of 30 games.

Molde’s gold team from the 2014 season took 71 points in 30 games, while Glimt in the 2020 season has taken 41 points after a half-played series.
