The online video awards The Jamies announced the nominees on Thursday. Bockie De Rapper, among others, but also the recently deceased YouTuber Kastiop and even the football team Club Brugge have been nominated. 84 content channels were nominated across the nine categories. This includes YouTubers, game streamers, TikTokkers and creators of video series. It is the first time that The Jamies will be awarded.

For the first edition, De Jamies counted about 5,000 submissions for nominations. Ultimately, 84 channels were nominated within the nine categories. In addition to internet phenomenon Acid, Celine & Michiel, Abulic and Ryan Debacker, a number of BVs have also been nominated such as Ella Leyers, Sam Bettens and comedian Henk Rijckaert. Flo Windey, Average Rob, Supercontent and the guys from Kurkdroog also have a chance to win an award. Remarkably, football team Club Brugge also has a chance to win a prize, in the TikTok category.
The sudden death of the Hasselt Youtuber Kacper ‘Kastiop’ caused quite a stir in the online community. He is therefore nominated in the ‘Best game streamer’ category.
To follow online
From Thursday, the public can vote for their favorite channel via www.dejamies.be. The final winners are chosen 50 percent by the online votes, and 50 percent by the jury. The public award is of course entirely determined by the public.
The winners will be announced on Friday, January 22, 2021 during the award weekend of the Ostend Film Festival. This will take place during a live event from the Kursaal Ostend that can be followed via YouTube and other online channels.
