Everything you need to know about your blood donation appointment

Blood donations have been taking place in Wattenscheid for 70 years now. The German Red Cross wants to celebrate this this weekend. In the old pay hall of the Holland mine, there will be an anniversary blood donation event on Sunday. There will also be a small family festival with lots of activities to get involved in. At the moment, people are not very willing to donate, so the German Red Cross is hoping for your donations for the anniversary. According to the German Red Cross, anyone who wants to donate blood on Sunday should make an appointment in advance. You can donate if you are at least 18 years old and have photo ID with you. You can register either online or by phone at 0800/1194911.

Bochum’s willingness to donate is getting lower and lower

At the DRK blood donation service West, and also in Wattenscheid, fewer and fewer blood donations are being made. The number of appointments being made has currently fallen to an all-time low. In the coming weeks, less than 50 percent of the available appointment slots will be filled. In good times, this rate was over 80 percent. That is why the DRK is hoping for many donors, especially for the anniversary celebrations.
