Boccia returns to TV: “My nomination was rejected by someone not from the government”

Sangiulian he suffered “perhaps because he was doing something he didn’t like doing”. Did he sever a professional relationship because someone forced it on him? “Exact”.

“Do I know the real reason for the revocation of the assignment? Of course.” Can you say it? “Not at the moment.” As Maria Rosaria Boccia in the interview granted to Clean Square on La7, returning to the affair linked to the former minister Sangiuliano. “Did he say he would get a phone to just talk to me? What he says and does makes me smile, it’s diametrically opposed to what he tells others,” explained Boccia. “I was hurt by the fact that they called me a boaster thanks to the ministry’s lack of clarity,” he continued. I felt “betrayed”. And he claims: “My nomination was there”. It is the crux of the designation as advisor for major events of the Ministry of Culture by the then minister Gennaro Sangiuliano.

“The appointment had been instructed, then there were some technical times, they told me that it was standard practice for the councilor to begin” to collaborate, he said again. But on August 16 “I understand why I am removed from the ministry’s chats”. Without answering questions about who was responsible for “ripping up” the nomination, Maria Rosaria Boccia said that “the problem is whether this action is carried out by someone who is not part of the government”. There was then a phone call between the Pompeii businesswoman and Sangiuliano, as reported by the Daily fact. Last September 3, on the eve of the former minister’s interview on Tg1, the two spoke for half an hour about the meeting with Meloni and the ‘torn’ nomination which “can no longer be made”. Boccia insistently asks why, “you know the real reason, period. And I can’t tell you on the phone”, Sangiuliano’s response. He says he cannot name the people who influenced the decision to blow up his job as a consultant to the Ministry of Culture, he fears being intercepted. He doesn’t want to explain too much to the cell phone for this reason, the former minister promises, he will buy two more phones to use for their calls. And he proposes to Boccia to make a “common front”, to end this “daily drip” and to agree on a common strategy that will allow him to maintain his position as minister (even if he repeats that he wants to leave).

“I did Signorini a favor”. Sangiuliano-Boccia, the mystery of the photos of the minister with the businesswoman from Pompeii

Although she often hides behind the impossibility of answering too precise questions because there is a proceeding in progress (“my lawyer is behind here to monitor me”, she said), the businesswoman from Pompeii said she has faith: ” I believe the judiciary and I have evidence that dismantles the whole complaint.”

In the interview, Maria Rosaria Boccia recalled that she had frequented parliament since 2019, in particular the group of Noi moderates and Italia viva (“but not Matteo Renzi”). Glasses in Parliament? “Used for a very short time. I have never used them with Sangiuliano”. Then he says he met Minister Lollobrigida at a meeting of the intergroup for the Mediterranean diet, “but perhaps for ten minutes”.

And on the alleged relationship with Sangiuliano he states: “He says that our relationship then became toxic? This is part of the complaint that we will clarify in the appropriate places. But you can easily see from the photos that it doesn’t seem that toxic, it was a friendship relationship. Arguments? Everyone has them. He says I attacked him? This must be demonstrated.”

On the prospect of political commitment, he closes firmly: “What if someone offered me to run? I would never run, you can mark it. I have always stayed away from politics.”
