After Ouagadougou, Dori, it’s the population of Bobo-Dioulasso’s turn to discover Sira, the feature film by Apolline Traoré, Silver Stallion at FESPACO 2023. This 1is July 2023 was the last day of screening at the Maison de la culture in the presence of the director, the minister in charge of culture, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo and the customary and religious authorities of the city of Sya.
For five days, from June 27 to 1is July 2023, Bobolais moviegoers were able to follow the film Sira, which was screened at the Anselme Titianma Sanon cultural centre. At the sessions of this 1is July, moviegoers did not want to be told the story of Sira. This is the case of Diaoul Ag Compaoré who found the film interesting. For him, the film teaches us that the fight against terrorism is not only a matter for the military, but for the whole population. At this stage of projection in Bobo, Apolline Traoré finds that the results are positive. She says she is satisfied because the city of Bobo has mobilized. “I hope that through this film certain mentalities will change, that our people will be much more united and that peace will return to the country”, she says. For the two stages of Bobo and Ouaga, she estimates the number of moviegoers who made the trip to 12,000. After Bobo, it will be the turn of Banfora moviegoers to discover Sira, from July 2 and the other regional capitals will follow gradually, specifies Apolline Traoré. During this screening, the director had at her side, the minister in charge of culture, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo and a representation of the European Union who accompanied the production of this film.
