Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution pointed out that the North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Provincial Government has not yet sent tax-sharing funds of around Rp 433 billion to the Medan City Government. North Sumatra Governor (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi admitted that he did not know about it.
“I don’t know. It will be studied later,” said Edy in Medan, Tuesday (22/6/2021).
Edy then questioned about the debt of the Provincial Government to the Medan City Government that Bobby had brought up. Even so, he promised to check it out.
“The provincial government also has debt. We’ll see,” he said.
Previously, Bobby Nasution stated that Medan’s original regional income (PAD) had decreased in 2020. Bobby said this was the impact of limiting the operating hours of business premises.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a decrease in regional tax and retribution revenues,” Bobby said at a plenary meeting scheduled for the regional head’s response to the general view of the factions regarding the 2020 APBD Implementation Accountability Report at the Medan DPRD building, as reported by Among.
The meeting was held on Monday (21/6) yesterday. This, Bobby said, was one of the factors that resulted in the realization of Medan City’s 2020 regional income not being fulfilled. He said the revenue was below the target set at Rp 4.75 trillion.
Another factor that does not fulfill the realization of regional income, he continued, is the policy of rationalizing regional financial transfers and village funds by the central government.
The Medan City Government recorded total regional income for 2020 of Rp 4.12 trillion, consisting of PAD of Rp 1.5 trillion, transfer income of Rp 2.57 trillion, and legitimate income of Rp 133.17 billion.
“Until the end of December 2020, the tax-sharing funds from the North Sumatra Provincial Government have not been transferred, so the Provincial Government has a debt of Rp 433.86 billion,” said Bobby in answering questions from the PDIP faction of the Medan City DPRD.
