Bobbi Eden, who works for her program Give birth with Bobbi attending births, understand why expectant parents choose to allow a camera at this intimate moment. She tells NU.nl that she sees the episodes as a “nice document for later” for the parents.
Eden, who became a mother of son Brandon in 2016, says that her own birth was “really not fun”, but she is still happy that she still has footage of it. “I had a photographer myself during my delivery. You are not quite there yourself and it is nice to be able to look back.”
She calls the episodes a “nice document for later” for the women who participate. “It is an honest program and we don’t do close-ups of the birth itself, of course. We also show the way there.”
The former porn actress notices that women are more likely to admit a camera when giving birth to a second child. “Then you know a little better what to expect. Often they realize later that they would have liked to have captured it the first time.”
Although 40-year-old Eden is surrounded by babies and new parents during the program, it has not necessarily strengthened her desire for a second child. “I love babies, but I am especially happy to have a healthy child. I never say never, but at the moment it is fine the way it is. I am not 25 anymore.”
Give birth with Bobbi can be seen on TLC every week at 8:30 PM from Tuesday, March 31 and looks ahead to Dplay.
