Bob Van Staeyen (The Strangers) passed away (Antwerp)


Bob Van Staeyen of the legendary Antwerp group De Strangers has passed away. He was 84 years old.

Bob Van Staeyen had been a member of De Strangers since 1964. He then replaced Gust Torfs. The Antwerp group is known for its iconic songs, among other things Cross-eyed Vanderlinden, Oh My Blue Checkered in At the Gendarmerie.

Besides singing, Bob also showed up as an actor from time to time. For example, he played Theo in the comic series Benidorm and was featured in the VTM series The Strangorians.

Bob Van Staeyen turned 84. He leaves a wife and a daughter.
