Bob Jungels will leave Deceuninck-Quick-Step after this cycling season. The 27-year-old Luxembourger leaves for AG2R and signs a two-year contract there.
Jungels was active with the Belgian formation for five seasons. In that period he became Luxembourg champion several times on the road and in the time trial. In 2018 he managed to win Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
A year later, Jungels also wrote Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne to his name. Jungels previously finished sixth and eighth in the Giro d’Italia and finished just outside the top ten in the Tour de France.

AG2R is very active on the transfer market this summer. Earlier, the French team already managed to bind Lilian Calmejane (27, Total Direct Energie) and Greg Van Avermaet (35, CCC Team), among others. It is unknown what Jungels’ role will be in AG2R.
