Pamplona, Bilbao, Gijón, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Fuengirola (Málaga), Murcia and València are the Spanish cities chosen by Bob Dylan to perform between April and May with his band, the promoter Riff Music reported yesterday on its website.
Dylan, who traveled to Spain the last time in March of this year, will perform on April 25 at the Navarra Arena in Pamplona, on the 26th at the Bizkaia Arena in Bilbao, on the 28th at the Palacio de los Deportes Adolfo Suárez in Gijón and the 29 in Fontes do Sar de Santiago. On May 3 they will play at the Fibes in Seville, on the 4 at the Marenostrum Music Castle Park in Fuengirola, on the 5 at the Murcia bullring and on the 7 at the València bullring. These concerts are part of his “endless tour”, the Never Ending Tour, which started in 1988 and which represents an average of one hundred performances per year. Tickets will go on sale on December 28 on the web www.riffmusic.es. Once again, the bard from Minnesotta leaves Alicante out of his tour again and repeats in cities where he already acted last year, so the faithful followers of Alicante of this legend will have to travel again to see it live. Dylan has visited the province of Alicante twice, always in summer. In 2004 he performed in the bullring in Benidorm, with Amaral as opening act, and in 2008 he did it in the Technification Center of Alicante, a concert that was part of the album presentation tour Modern times, considered one of the best of his last stage, although as usual for him, the musician did not stick to that recording alone, as he combined an unpredictable repertoire and sometimes unrecognizable by the public for his way of twisting the versions of his own themes, always hidden behind a keyboard as he rarely plays the guitar. Hiring Bob Dylan is a risk for promoters since in the last decade he has been gradually increasing his cache. “He is a very expensive artist”, commented the businessman who brought him to Alicante in 2008, because “every time he arouses more interest, with some new award, which increases the value of the musician”. In the last decade, Dylan has received the Nobel Prize for Literature, the Prince of Asturias and a good handful of prestigious musical and cultural awards.
