The Swedish boat manufacturer Nimbus stops the production of boats in Finland. The company announces that it will close the Kuopio and Luoto factories.
The decision affects 140 employees in Finland. According to the release, the reason for the discontinuation is the weakened market situation for small boats. Bella boats have been manufactured in factories in Finland. Last year, Nimbus laid off a large number of employees in Finland for production and financial reasons.
The Swedish boat manufacturer says that in the future it will focus on manufacturing premium boats.
Nimbus bought Kuopio-based Bella-Veneet Oy in 2018. Bella-Veneet is Raimo Sonnenen a company founded in 1970.
