Three involved in boat accident at Askøy
One person has been confirmed dead in a boating accident in Askøy municipality in Vestland. Two people have been taken to hospital with unknown extent of injuries.
This is according to the West police district, which received information about the accident just after 2 o’clock on Sunday night.
According to the police, the boat has run aground or a reef. A major rescue operation was launched with police, fire brigade with boat and divers, lifeboat, air ambulance and rescue helicopter.
– There were three people and a dog on board. All are rescued on land. No information about more people involved or missing, writes operations manager Jørgen Ommedal in a press release.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, but two others were transported to Haukeland University Hospital by air ambulance and ambulance. Their condition is not known. (NTB)
