Several visitors to the ‘Boardmasters’ music festival in Newquay, Great Britain, were injured on Friday during a charge. It is about ‘a small number of people present’, the police told the British media. A festival goer said the incident was ‘scary’.
The injured were treated on the spot or taken to a hospital for evaluation. None of the victims were in serious condition.
Due to the incident, a performance by DJ Sammy Virji was cancelled. He said via Instagram that he was ‘shattered’ that he could not run but that ‘safety should always come’.
Demonstrations continued on other stages. Friday also featured performances by Chase & Status, Tom Odell, Courteeners and The Teskey Brothers, among others. The Saturday and Sunday line-up includes artists such as Sam Fender, Stormzy, Maisie Peters and The Streets.
